Increasing an image's KB or MB does not mean its detail or clarity improves.
Set a minimum target such as 50KB, 100KB, 200KB, 500KB, 1MB, or 2MB. The browser creates a real same-format image and may minimally increase its pixel dimensions. Targets are minimums, not exact-byte or maximum-size guarantees.
Choose Expand Image to carry the original into the Image Editor, where you can make the canvas wider or taller. Solid and transparent fills are free; AI fill may use credits when you explicitly choose it.
Choose Upscale Image to open Scale in the Image Editor and enter a larger pixel width or height. Basic Scale is free. AI Enhance uses credits only when you turn it on and generate.

No. More bytes do not restore detail that is missing from the original. The tool may use a higher output encoding quality or increase pixel dimensions only to create a larger valid image file.
